Halfway House – Pitney

We are a country pub in the middle of Somerset situated on the B3513 halfway between the small towns of Langport and Somerton.
We draw customers from a wide area who enjoy the benefits of a traditional English pub, good beer, good food and light hearted conversation. No music, no machines with flashing lights, no jukebox, no pool table and no television. The atmosphere is easy going and all are welcome.
CAMRA – Somerset pub of the year 1995, 1997, 2001, 2003, 2011 and national pub of the year 1996. We are also in all the major pub guides and were picked by the Telegraph newspaper to be country pub of the year 2002.

The Halfway house is a focal point for the local community. A wide range of clubs, groups and organizations meet at the pub ranging from Chess through to the Golf Society. A lot of business is conducted and discovered through the pub as a result of the wide range of professions encompassed by our regulars. Many social relationships and sets of friends have also been formed as a direct result of the convivial social environment found at the Halfway House.

Run by Mark Phillips and family since 2008. We hope you will come and visit the pub, and enjoy the many things that it has to offer.
