Brown and Forrest is a small family run smokery, started over 35 years ago here in Somerset, we produce the finest smoked eel and salmon as well as a whole range of delicious smoked foods including smoked chicken, duck, lamb and trout. We stock over forty products in our shop which is attached to our award winning restaurant. We also send mail order all over the UK and supply wholesale to customers such as The Hawksmoor Group, Scotts, Le Caprice, J.Sheekey, The Gilbert Scott, Raoul’s Deli & Restaurant, Brooks Club and Fortnum and Mason.
Restaurant – We serve our customers with produce locally sources where possible, fresh from the smokery. Often so fresh we can actually unload straight out of the smoker! We also offer homemade soups, puddings and cakes. Our aim is to offer simple excellence. Our menus change daily offering the freshest produce. The restaurant is fully licenced and we offer a variety of wines individually selected to complement our smoked food. In the summer enjoy your lunch outside overlooking the fields with the hint of smoke in the air from the smokery. Our trademark bread and butter pudding is a particular favourite throughout the year it is rich, sticky and full of flavour. We also offer tea, coffee and hot chocolate to accompany our selection of delicious fresh homemade cakes and pastries. Parking is available right outside and we offer good wheelchair access
Calling all fishermen If you would like us to we can smoke any Trout or Salmon that you may catch. We use exactly the same methodology that we use for our own award winning products and can either hot or cold smoke the fruits of your labours for you. We will slice and pack it into manageable quantities for you or leave it as whole sides which ever you would like. The feed back we have had from people has been fantastic and it all freezes beautifully for you to store and use as you’d like to.
